Toll the bell ’cause it’s a brand new year

1.) Where did you ring in 2006?
You know… I can’t remember. I think I was at home. Quite possibly in bed. Ha.

2.) What was your status by Valentine’s Day?
Single. Per the norm.

3.) Were you in school (anytime this year)?
Nope. Not unless preschool counts, since I did step foot inside the one my mom works at to deliver something to her.

4.) How did you earn your keep?
By paying out the big big money (aka cash disbursement).

5.) Did you have to go to the hospital?
Yup. But on an outpatient basis only.

6.) Did you encounter the police?
Yes. I flagged some officers down after an accident, while I was on the phone with 911 trying to get them to send some. In hindsight I shoulda let those guys go, and have 911 send me some. The ones I flagged down were jerks.

7.) Where did you go on vacation?
Toronto, ONT. Peterborough, ONT. Los Angeles, Ca.

8.) What did you purchase that was over $500?
A new computer. But technically, $500 of it was for Christmas, I only had to pay the difference.

9.) Did you know anybody who got married?
Yes, a friend I haven’t seen in a decade or so.

10.) Did you know anybody who passed away?
No.

11.) Did you run into anybody you graduated high school with?
A couple of people via MySpace. And I’ve seen people out, but haven’t spoken with them. They were busy/I was busy/etc.

12.) Did you move anywhere?
I moved offices, does that count?

13.) What sporting events did you go to?
None.

14.) What concerts did you go to?
Bobby Bognar, Lonestar & Diamond Rio, Lifehouse. Also, the Rock of Ages musical. Not a concert, no – but there was amazing 80’s music.

15.) Are you registered to vote?
Yup.

16.) If so, did you do your patriotic duty on Nov. 7?
Yes, but I voted early.

17.) Where do you live now?
Suburbs of Dallas, Tx.

18.) Describe your birthday.
I came into work, got a BEAUTIFUL arrangement of flowers from my best friend. Had Applebees for dinner.

19.) What’s the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2006?
Had two car accidents in one week. SOBS!

20.) What is one thing you regretted this year?
Having car accidents. 😉 Ha. Money spent on a trip that just wasn’t supposed to happen. I don’t regret the time spent out there, just the money spent part – if that makes any kind of sense.

21.) What’s something you learned about yourself?
I’m not sure if I learned anything new.

22.) Any new additions to your family?
Nope.

23.) What was your best month?
October, maybe? I don’t know.

24.) What from pop culture will you remember 2006 by?
No clue.

25.) How would you rate this year with a scale from 1 (crappy) to 10 (excellent)?
5.5

…wtf?

My iPod is apparently possessed by the Ghost of Christmas Past, or something.

Whenever I purchased or burned new holiday songs, I made sure the genre was listed as “holiday” to make them all easier to find to take off the iPod/out of iTunes. When I added them to the iPod, I had a seperate playlist for just the holiday songs that it synced from, so I didn’t have to search through my main playlist. Last night, I edited that playlist and removed all of the Christmas-related songs from it. I synced up the iPod, and it clearly shows there’s only 767 songs on it now, about 230 songs LESS than there was one day ago. So, according to the number of songs, it synced up properly, and removed all the Christmas songs.

And yet, this morning? It keeps starting to play songs that are no longer on the iPod. Songs I removed. I’m more than a little freaked out, because I went through and deleted everything with a Christmas mention (I left one or two winter/snow non-Christmas songs, as well as New Years songs) out of the playlist, so I know they’re gone. Like I said, the iPod shows that it deleted 230 songs. I have no clue where these are coming from. I guess the iPod doesn’t want Christmas to be over with yet?
