I’ve done everything I can to ease the pain

For almost the last two months, I’ve been having trouble sitting. At first, the pain wasn’t worth mentioning, but it’s slowly gotten worse with time. Monday night, my tailbone was hurting so badly I was practically in tears. So, Tuesday morning, I called my doctor and they had me come in right away to fit me in for an appointment. Sitting around in the office for over an hour didn’t help much, but they finally got to me. After talking with me for a few minutes, my doctor wanted to get xrays to see what exactly was going on. She gave me some pain killers and sent me on downstairs. More waiting before I finally got to be taken back for an xray. Let me just say, laying on a hard cold surface is no easier on a tailbone than sitting on it is! The tech had to redo a few of the shots, she managed to get the smaller bones, but not the larger ones.

I had to call back today for my results, and to let them know how the painkillers were working for me. The verdict: I have a subluxated coccyx. In other words, I somehow managed to dislocate my tailbone. I have no clue how I did it, I haven’t had any falls or any other trauma that could have. My doctor refered me to an orthopedist and a pain management doc. I’m still waiting to get an appointment with the pain management folks, but the ortho I go see in about 3 weeks. I wish they could’ve gotten me in sooner, but I’m not going to complain as long as the pain doc can get me in sooner. 😉

In other news, I have a new computer! We went out and bought it this evening — I went with the Hewlett Packard. The convience of being able to have it now (plus the cheaper warranty prices) won out in the end. Plus my pc is going crazier, and I didn’t want to wait any longer before getting a new one.
